Todo Sobre mi Madre
We did not watch this movie in films club. I saw it in Hispanic films. It's really moving. In the begining we are introduced to a woman and her son. He is a writer who is writing a story about his mother entitled (you guessed it) "Todo sobre mi Madre" (Everything about my Mother). He is obviously enfatuated with her and we spend the rest of the movie seeing what a wonderful person she is, seeing her through his eyes even though he isn't in all of the movie. The film explores a lot of female relationships and portrays most woman (or womanesque men) as being inherently maternal in different ways. I definitely do not think that all women are inherently maternal, but I think that most of us can't help it.
