I waited to post this until I had watched both parts. I LOVED this film. It was incredibly long but it had such an awesome mixture of humor, absurdity and horror. At first I thought that it was going to drag on and be boring but now I'm really unhappy that they didn't make the final part because I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.
I don't know if there is a hero in this series and that makes me happy. It is so much more realistic this way. No character is completely detestable or completely saintly. I have to say that the character that I felt the most sorry for is Little Brother. He lives and dies in such a painful way. However, I won't say that his life was pointless. In thinking about it I thing that he had the opportunity to make the ultimate decision in life. He had to choose between good and evil. The decision wasn't easy, he could have chosen evil and lived w/o pain. Instead he choose good and lived and died in horrible pain.

Well this is one of my all time favorite movies and it's one of three times we've shown one of my all time favorites (the others have been Little Otik and Dogville). I think Kingdom II is better than Kingdom I (though you can't get better than I's finale, I think.) And it's due to Little Brother bring a very interesting kind of compassion to the whole thing. I'm glad you like Little Brother too Ivory, since he tends not to go over so well. The only thing I guess I don't like about II is Hook's fate. Hook was in some ways the most identifiable character in I and by changing him in the way they do, they've lost that. But of course, it's brilliant and hilarious in how it comes to happen. :-)
true, i was disappointed that they changed him so much, but you are right about the scenario being hillarious. II was funnier than I. I enjoy comedy (with a purpose) more than other genres so I was happy with that. I would have to agree that I liked II better than I but I also liked watching it with other people more than watching it by myself.
