The Edukators

Several things:
First, Arianna and I were discussing this earlier, for antiCapitalists they wear a lot of American clothing.
Second, what is it with 'rebels' and marijuana?
Finally, why was the 'American' title so different from the 'German' title?

I like the idea also. The only problem that I see with it is that it would take a while to get noticed. An incidence here or there might make for an amusing story, but it is so anecdotal that it would take a LOT of break ins for the pattern to be seen.

I much prefer the American title. But this is hardly the most bizarre title change I've seen. I think the most interesting one is the French film Gandahar which is based on an American short story of the same name by Isaac Asimov, but in America the film's title was unfortunately changed to Light Years. My all time favorite film title change is Return to Oz, which is called Oz in England (where it premiered.) and in Mexico is called The Adventures of the Devil from the Sky.

Personally I don't think the Edukators plan for educating the public is justified or effective. I also think they're very hypocritical, since they aren't actually helping anyone with they're pranks, which are, I think, clearly done more for fun and the high than anything else.

also, I realize I'm in the minority, but I'm not sold on the idea of socialism/capitalism. I like that you're paid differently for different jobs. Certain jobs are harder or more dangerous for one thing and those people should be given compensation and other jobs that aren't as strenuous, society simply values more such as being a stellar writer or actor or director, and I'm okay with people with talent being afforded more as well. I furthermore feel it should be up to these to manage the money they've earned for what they've done and that they should be allowed to pass it onto offspring if they so desire. Thus, I'm not even so against a class system.

I do think that there is no reason for people to be homeless and that the government should support everybody to a certain level. There's no reason for people to go without a meal or a bed simply because they can't manage money. In the case of poor people who haven't any skill at money management I think the government should not just give them a wellfare check but should earmark the money money as food, clothing, housing, luxary so that they can't spend it all on cigarettes or alcohol, but I think they should all get a little luxary too. I think the money should taper off as you make more so that you slowly get less and less with how much you make until you don't make any and then you slowly get taxed more and more.

I don't know, I'm sort of rambling now, but I just think that people should be allowed to rich, just not poor.

And as I say this, personally, both me and my family are poor or in debt which isn't quite the same as poor, but perhaps just as stressful (though I'm only comparing us to other Americans, of course, not the world). Yet I like the idea that with enough hard work I will eventually get a nice job and when I'm older will be living comfortably. It's very much the sort of goals I like to set for myself.

but I don't know everything there is to know about communism, and it's possible I don't have the best understanding of it. I mostly know it from books written in the forties and fifties and Animal Farm. I've never sat down and just read about it. And I'd love to talk more about this in person
